Raphael Korda aims at providing avenues for sports development in Ho

Meet Hon. Raphael Kobla Korda, an NDC MP hopeful for Ho Central Constituency 

A Member of Parliament hopeful, Raphael Kobla Korda has outlined ways of helping to improve sports in the Ho Central constituency when given the nod to become an MP.

Meeting a section of the press over the weekend in Ho to officially introduce himself as the man for the job, outlined ways of what he will do differently as an MP come 2024.

The young Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years extensive experience in the mining industry believes a lot can be done to develop sports in Ho.

"Sports is something that we can make a lot out in Ho"

Explaining further, Korda said he will work closely with scouts or agents to ensure talented young players are scouted. With the availability of quality cameras to identify talents, the MP noted that the office of the MP will equip sports journalists with quality cameras for filming players with the aim to package them for marketing.

"Sports is a key area that I will be working closely with scouts or agents to provide opportunities for talented players. I as the MP will work or collaborate with sports journalists through the office of the MP to provide quality cameras to identify emerging talents as the idea is to get them properly packaged and present them to the market."

One of the major factors affecting the growth of sports in Ho Central constituency is the lack of playing field. This has been a call for many youths with several sports loving people in the constituency calling on politicians, opinion leaders to come to their aide to build pitches or Astro turf for the community but has fallen on rocks. The aspiring MP who was responding to questions from the press said, he will do everything possible as an MP to fix whatever hindering the progress of sports development for Ho Central get an Astro turf should he get the nod.

"I will do everything possible; if it is a pitch that is the root cause of our sports activities not growing or developing, I will fix it"

The aspiring MP is a product of Kumasi Technical University, having completed in 2010, went ahead to obtain his MSc  Engineering and Management, Coventry University UK in 2020.

The man from Nyive as his hometown but currently living in Sunyani with his family have been actively involved in politics and party activities, has declared his decision to contest as the Member of Parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, the NDC.
