FIFA to direct all countries to name their stadium after Pele

The President of the world governing football body, Gianni Infantino has said FIFA will in the not too distant future ask all affiliated countries to name one of their stadiums after the departed ex player, Pele.

Edson Arante Do Nascimento, known widely as Pele died on December 29, 2022. The news of his death spread across the globe with almost all the football fraternity pouring out their tributes to the former Brazilian international.

Gianni Infantino reacting on Pele's death on Sky Sports said, FIFA will direct each country to name a stadium after the ex player who is regarded by FIFA as the greatest footballer.

"We're going to ask every country in the world to name one of their stadiums with the name Pele"

Pele has blessed the world with his insightful playing skills having led Brazil to win the FIFA World Cup 3 times.

He lived for 82 years and will greatly be remembered as the most successful and popular sports figure of the 20th century.
