NSA-Volta concerned about lack of a Ghana Premier league club in the Region

Mr. Daniel Sarpei, Regional Director, NSA Volta

Ghana's premier league is regarded as the topmost league in the country. It has housed 18 league clubs across the country with the winner representing Ghana in CAF's organized champions league.

Volta region in perspective after Heart of Lions demotion to the national division one league since 2015 has lacked a representative in the Ghana's premier league. The region has since failed to get a representative with clubs that gain promotion to the first division, gets relegated at the end of the season. Until Akatsi All Stars breaking the jinx in their first duel, every club from Volta Region entering the first division comes back in handy as a relegated team.

In his address at the Congress held by the Volta Regional Football Association, the director of National Sports Authority for Volta Region, Mr. Daniel Sarpei raised concern about the lack of a premier league team in the region. This he advised club owners and football administrators to employ experts in the coaching field with rich experience and technical brains to develop the game in the region.

"Clubs should employ qualifed coaches and technical men to help develop our games"

He therefore called for a collective work by all players in the sporting industry in the region to rally behind Volta's National Sports Authority to drive home a positive note.
