Volta Rangers suffered their first defeat in the on going division one league this afternoon at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

A hard fought that could have resulted in a draw rather saw a late twist in the game to give Kpando Heart of Lions a win.

A dilly dally encounter between the two sides ended goalless in the first half despite some decent chances fallen for the two teams.

Rangers calmnes on the ball and insightful passes made the Lions unable to execute their plans to perfection in the early minutes played.

Goal keeper Sulemana Iddrisu came to the rescue when Samuel Quansah headed home a volley but got parried away to a corner.

Heart of Lions tried to unsettle the visitors as they pile pressure to get a goal but Volta Rangers were equal to the task by warding off attacks from the home team.

John Ackah missed a glorious chance to convert Justice Akugre's cross in the 65' as it became a ding dong affair with Lions continuous mounting pressure in the second half. A situation that led to a penalty for Lions in the 70' but got missed by Samuel Agbeyegah.

An 86' goal from Ayara Sadat became the only goal of the day to put the Lions in a victory mode.

Heart of Lions unbeaten run after match day 4 lives them on the summit of the league table with 10 points as Volta Rangers dropped to 4th.

The people's club will travel away to meet Attram De Visser in the week 5 fixture.
