University of Ghana and University of Cape Coast wins GUSA cross country race in men's and women's category

University of Ghana and University of Cape Coast yesterday 13th August 2022 were adjudged champions of the men's and women's GUSA Cross Country competition respectively.

The competition with the theme, 'Running for Health' was hosted by the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho saw ten universities contesting for the ultimate trophies.

Both men and women were involved in a 10km race in a five loops of 2km to see who finishes first in the order of schools.

In the female's category, Sarah Komson from the University of Development Studies won the individual race with the time 35.25.88.

However, William Amponsah also the record holder from University of Education Winneba won in the male's race  finishing his line first in 29.17.00 time splits.

The over all winners in the female's contest went to the University of Cape Coast gaining a total of 53 points ahead of University of Education Winneba 2nd, and University of Development Studies coming 3rd and amassing 65 and 118 points respectively.

That of the male went to the University of Ghana bagging a total of 47 points as against University of Education Winneba who got 88 points and University of Cape Coast having 94 points in that order.

KNUST is set to host the 27th GUSA Games from November 4-19, 2022 in Kumasi.
