Ahiekpor Jonathan, the Director of Volta Rangers has confirmed to 24hourssports.com the club will adopt the Ho Sports Stadium as their home in the national division 1 league next season.
Speaking to the online portal, the leader of the club assured all teaming fans and followers that, the club was here to stay as he laughed off rumours making grounds that the club will be taken to Accra.
"Hahahahahaha, Volta Rangers is here to stay, the team is for the people of Ho and the region as a whole. We are not going anywhere, Ho is our home."
Akatsi All Stars made history by remaining in the Division one league in the just ended season. It is expected that, Volta Rangers will do same by avoiding relegation next season. Reacting to this, Jonathan said, the expectation from the fans and the people of Ho are high as the plan is to go into next season with the aim of surviving.
"Our plan is to get in there and ensure we sustain being in division one; our division one teaming fans want so much"
It was all joy for the people of Ho and fans of Volta Rangers after the qualification to the first division. Ho has not had the taste of a first division in recent times. Jonathan who described the feeling as fantastic revealed that the players and management have worked tirelessly over the period to be rewarded with a qualification, this he said was fulfilling.
"It was a fantastic feeling, a feeling words can’t describe. The players and management have worked tirelessly over the period and being rewarded with a win of the topmost spot is just very fulfilling"
Asked whether Volta Rangers was aiming a one time promotion to the Ghana Premier League, the football administrator admitting it will be a difficult target to achieve said, the club still remain focused as they take events one at a time
"It will be a very big ambition, qualification into the PL won’t come easy as that is the pinnacle of Ghana football competition. We will take one thing at a time and remain focused"
Meanwhile, the club in the coming days will hold a justify your inclusion to recruit new players to beef up the squad even though, some players according to the director have been identified and the process to register them is well on course.
