Management of Vora FC holds dinner and awards night for technical and playing body

Vora Football Club yesterday held dinner and awards night for the entire playing body.

The event that took place in the hours of 8pm at the Pleasure Gardens saw the top hierarchies of Vora FC in attendance.

The team manager in his introduction speech, acknowledged the efforts of the players for reaching the middle league. He indicated that, the target was not to reach the middle league as he said, the team was still in the building process.

The chairman of the club, Col. Rtd Cyril Neku advised players to be serious at all times. The ex-military officer lamented on player lackadaisical attitude towards training as he reiterate the need to work hard next season.

"I'm using this opportunity to advise you to be hard working, if we can do better next season, we need to stop every negative attitudes as players and be serious at all times on and off the pitch"

In an interview with 24hourssports.com, Col. Neku touched on the partnership between UHAS and Vora FC, this he explained that, it was unfortunate events went that way, but was hopeful issues will be resolved and both parties will come back to work.

"Well, it's unfortunate it happened that way, as a club, we cannot under this current economy 100% give all that the players want, it was rather unfortunate it went that way, but we believe in the future we would be back again to work."

Vora Football Club according to the chairman said, the next target for the club is operation division one come next season. He revealed that, plans are fast advance to ensure the course remain achievable.

"Of course next season, we are targeting qualification to division one, we will make sure we bring on board the right measures to achieve this target"

Three outstanding players received awards for their respective roles they played in the team, a vote casted by the players saw Dickson Anabonu emerged as the most behaved player of the season, promising player of the year went to Emmanuel Adams and Player's player of the year goes to Richard Lawoe.

Vora FC was among the eight teams to play in the just ended Volta FA division 2 middle league. They lost to Agbogba and Young Desert Warriors as they beat Roberto FC to gain 3 points in the process.
