Football until the past two seasons, has taken a nosedive as many believed the future of football in the Volta region could be nothing to write home about.

After successfully holding two consecutive regional division 2 league which saw Akatsi All Stars got promoted and making history by surviving in the national division one league and Volta Rangers' recent elevation to the first division has put some respect on the Volta football tag.

Despite inadequate football pitches in the Volta regional capital, and the lack of better playing fields across the region, Mr. Agboga's reign as the Volta FA chair has so far proven with no doubt he is the man for the job.

The just ended 2021/22 regional division two middle league has opened doors for the region with regards to football relations, that the Second Division National Festival will be hosted by Volta region, a feat many describes as a great success to the Region in particular.

While some were of the view that Mr. Agboga is gradually changing the narrative, others also believes the chairman should be given the chance to rule Volta football for a long time as his administration is said to be one of a kind.

Amos Amaglo, a resident of Ziavi said, Mr. Daniel Agboga has given a new face to Volta football. He opined that, football in the region is gradually changing to the best of form it used to be in the late 90s. This he called for God's guidance, protection and wisdom for the Volta FA capo to be able to bring on board great ideas to drive home Volta to a success.

"I am particularly happy for Mr. Daniel Agboga, he is changing the narrative of football in the Volta Region. Now when you talk about football in this region, everyone develops interest and that is a good news for all of us, I pray God gives him wisdom to rule for a long time, protect and guide him so that, he can have great ideas to take Volta football far because his administration is one of a kind"

Miss Esinam Aforla, a trained teacher from Adaklu Kodjobi also believes the Volta FA since the reign of Mr. Daniel Agboga has given a lot of credence to the regional football games, despite admitting there are more rooms for improvement, Esinam said, so far, it has been good for the association.

"I love football alot, and I have always come to the Ho Sports Stadium to watch some of the matches played, Vora vs Dynamo, Selion FC vs Volta Rangers etc and I am always surprised about the turn out at the stadium, Mr. Agboga is really doing well, even though I think there are also other areas to tackle but so far it's been great for him"

Speaking to other followers of the game, Gershon who wished to remain by his first name said, the FA chair should try to get sponsorship for the league, insisting the division two league has come of age to get a sponsor

"Agboga is really working, we can feel and see it, one thing I think he needs to do is get sponsorship for the division two, he should try and get a sponsor for the league next season because the league is of age to have one. This will even help the clubs alot"

Some fans amidst the praise, said Mr. Daniel Agboga should sack persons believed to be corrupt in the FA, despite not mentioning names, the fans were critical of the corrupt practices some members of the association have indulged in during the league season. Agbemor Gilbert from Ho Hliha in his opinion said, if those elements of people are still in his team, his good works will not be able to show as they will do everything to sabotage him thereby failing at the end.

Through the hard work of Mr. Daniel Agboga and his team, the Ghana Football Association has given the green light to the Volta FA as host of the upcoming Second Division National Festival in September this year. This therefore will drive the needed attention to Volta Region and also boost the local economy in the region.

Mr. Daniel Agboga who has only 8yrs to reign will be hoping to extend his chairmanship to another 4 years after the end of his first term which is expected to end in 2023. The change was as a result of the Anas Exposè that revealed several corrupt engagements in the erstwhile Kwasi Nyantekyi's era.
