Diamond glitters to dim City's Stars; Soccer Masters made slaves in a defeat by Supreme FC

Diamond FC beat City Stars 2-1 as Supreme's 2-0 ended the dreams of Soccer Masters

Diamond FC put up a spirited performance to struck a deep blow in the hearts of City Stars in the on going Ho Municipal Division 3 middle league.

City Stars were the first to register their presence in the 15' through their skipper Ahinkorah Isaac. A workout from the playmaker disposed Diamond FC goalie, Adornu Courage beating him to a goal.

A quick response from Diamond FC in the 25' levelled the first half to a draw.

Back from recess, both teams became cautious of commiting themselves as the ball was left to a midfield battle. Diamond FC constant attack to have a double was halted when Mordzro Perry long range missed the post by inches.

Maxwell Agbagba effort at goal was parried out of play by City's goalie which drew an applauds from the stands.

A 72' goal from Perry ended the hopes of the Toh Kpalime lads who, tried as they may could not come back to level the 2-1 scoreline despite their lead early on.

Supreme's supremacy over Soccer Master became too hot for the masters who were eventually turned into slaves on the day. A resounding victory from the Sokode lads was all that they needed to stay on top of group A with goals advantage. Soccer Masters remain at the bottom with no points to hold.

Supreme FC will on Friday clash with wounded lions, City Stars as Diamond FC will take their destiny in their own hands when they meet Soccer Masters in the group final to seal the grand finale slot on Sunday.
