A Nigerian scholar, Professor Oluwaseun O. Omotayo, who is also the chairman of Board of Trustees for Sports Psychology Association of Nigeria (SPAN) sends a message to the Nigeria Football Federation following their elimination from the qualification to the FIFA 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar.

Professor Omotayo in his write up advised the Nigerian Football Federation to rather support the technical team in an attempt to build a stronger Super Eagles to fight for future honours.

The acting President of Africa Students Football Union (ASFU) and Africa Sports Management Association (ASMA) in his write up also indicated that, Super Eagles were ill prepared at the psychological level for the qualification match.

Advising the federation, the Executive Board member of World Association for Sports Management (WASM) said, Nigeria should as a matter of urgency start a rebuilding process.

I have been inundated with calls since yesterday on the World Cup qualifiers match between Ghana and Nigeria. I therefore decided to send out this statement which focus more on the future of Nigeria football and also advise the NFF.

Eagles World cup elimination should NOT be an excuse to dismantle Eguavoun Led technical crew. Rather NFF should support the Coaching crew to build a Super Eagles that shall always come to the Party.  Nigeria lost the match because the players played far far below expectation in a make or mar encounter that was obviously a mind game. I saw a Super Eagles team that was obviously ill prepared at the psychological level for a football match of the make or mar encounter SITUATION.

Psychological preparations must have been inappropriate  as the players attitude to the game was not proportionate to the situation of the football match. I wonder how the Super Eagles would have won a match in which the Players committed more MENTAL TECHNICAL ERRORS than the Ghanaian Players. The Super Eagles were observablely not well psychologically fired up to rise to the occasion. The rebuilding process should begin immediately with the same Technical crew following the three phases of Team preparations. The Eagles shall fly again if the situation is managed scientifically without breaking the chain of Team building.

Congratulations to Ghana Black Stars for exhibiting greater STAYING POWER. The World cup shall miss the Nigeria Football Supporters club that are always adjudged the best. They should accept the reality of Nigeria's absence at the 2022 FIFA world cup.

Nigeria should take advantage of the tetrad period to re-build the Super Eagles.
