Volta Parliamentary Caucus pledges to support the development of sports in Volta Region |
24hourssports.com one of the leading online sports portal in Volta region in partnership with the University of Health and Allied Sciences yesterday met the Volta Caucus in Parliament.
The meeting was aimed at seeking support of the Members of Parliament from Volta Region on sports development on how to scientifically manage the health of football players on and off the pitch.
The Volta Caucus led by Hon. Kobby Woyome in the absence of the chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzra welcomed the team as they expressed their joy for the visit.
Hon. Wisdom Kobena Woyome, also a ranking member on Parliamentary select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture acknowledged the purpose of the meeting brought before them.
The Member of Parliament for South Tongu in his address, believed the lack of sceintific management of health of players is a national problem, this he said the initiative to organize a workshop for the stakeholders will go a long way to benefit the country as a whole.
The Volta Caucus promised to raise the initiative in the Parliamentary chamber to drive the needed attention as they also pledged to support the initiative from UHAS and 24hourssport.com
Hon. Kobby Woyome, MP for South Tongu, Hon. Dela Sowah, MP for Kpando, Hon. Charles Agbeve, MP for Agortime Ziope received the team.
Also present at the meeting was Professor Dele Oladipo, Lecturer, UHAS faculty School of Sports and Exercise Medicine. The media was represented by Foster Stephen Osei, Manasseh Ned and Francis Lanyo, Managing Director of Adonai Engineering and Construction Limited.
