A section of the Ho Sports Stadium in a sorry state

Information reaching 24hourssports.com has it that, the Volta Regional Sports Authority makes good sums of money from renting the stadium to cooperate institutions and churches for their programs.

The sporting facilities have been used to render variety of events in the past few months by the National Sports Authority.

The stadium has not undergone any serious renovation since it was built by the Acheampong's administration.

Over twenty thousand cedis according to reports have been earned by the sports authority yet, no proper facelift has been given to the only stadium in Ho. The reserve and technical benches has been at the mercy of the weather, leaving the spoilt structure without repairs.

No drainage system done to avert the rain pressure it carries on the pitch. It was expected that, with the sums of monies generatesd from the stadium rentals for other concerts and crusades, the National Sports Authority could have channelled some funds to into providing shades and other repairs works the stadium needs.

Earlier today, the heavy downpour hugely exposed the 'rice farm' with an abrupt end of the friendly match between Home Stars and the Black Starlets of Ghana.

Many have called on the Volta Regional Minister as a matter of urgency to turn his attention to the stadium to give it a facelift after promising to renovate the stadium few weeks after the fair.

The stadium has thus remained as it was and even worse with concerns raised by the football loving people.
