Heavy downpour exposes waterlogged Ho Sports Stadium in Home Stars, Black Starlets friendly

Ho Sports Stadium left with water logged on the pitch after a downpour

The much anticipated friendly at the Ho Sports Stadium was marred by heavy downpour this afternoon.

Scores of fans who thronged the Ho Sports Stadium got agitated about the nature of the facility.

The friendly which was expected to serve as a preparation for both teams prior to the WAFU Zone B tournament and the up coming African Youth Championship for the Black Starlets and the up coming Division 2 Home Stars would compete.

The downpour which forced the game to an abrupt end could only see 10' of game played.

Late last year, the pitch hosted the famous Volta trade fair, church crusades and musical concerts approved by the National Sports Authority further caused damages to the only surviving football pitch in the regional capital.

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. Archibald Yao Lesta in an interview on Ho fm promised to renovate the sports stadium with a promise of few weeks ultimatum.

"We will reverse the pitch to its normal state within a few weeks after the fair"

The stadium is yet to see a facelift since the promise by the Volta Regional Minister on Ho FM was made
