Congress accepts February 19 as start of Volta Regional Div 2 league

Volta Football Association earlier this afternoon held their Annual Congress to usher in, a new  season in the Volta Regional Div 2 league

The Volta Regional Football Association has set aside 19th February for the start of its Div 2 league.

This comes at the back of the annual Congress held in the hours of Thursday, 3rd February 2022 at the Mawuli Senior High School auditorium.

Mr. Daniel Agboga, the chairman for the Volta football association, announced the start date which was accepted by the representatives of clubs at the Congress.

ads. Adonai Estate LimitedThe Volta Regional Div 2 last season became one of the most successful football event across the region with a number of clubs appearing in the middle league. The 2020/21 season remained one that brought football loving fans from all areas of the region to the Ho Sports Stadium.

The Congress also accepted a proposal from the FA for a regular Home and Away format, unlike the previous season which saw a Game Village league status during the Covid 19 era. Clubs this season as approved at the Annual Congress will play from their respective favourite grounds.The Regional Football Association also proposed to relegate clubs that remain bottom in their groups in each Zones. A move that will see only top teams from each group in their Zones qualifying to the middle league as there will be no sub-middle league this season.

The 2021/22 league season promises to be keen as clubs have begun preparations ahead of the Volta Regional Div 2 league.
