Nathaniel Nukpe finally compensated following a petition served Ghana Boxing Authority

Nathaniel Nukpe recieved an undisclosed amount of money following a petition served by the Volta and Oti regional Ghana Boxing President after boxer mistakenly introduced as Togolese.


Nathaniel Nukpe, a Ghanaian boxer who was mistakenly announced in the ring to be a Togolese boxer has been compensated by the Ghana Boxing Authority.

The president of the Volta Boxing Authority, Enam Dagadu petitioned the president of the Ghana Boxing Authority to intervene by calling the promosters of the bout to order after altering the national of Nathaniel Nukpe to be a Togolese.

In the said letter Enam sent to the Ghana Boxing Authority, he also called for the payment of monies the organizers were to pay Nukpe adding that, an unqualified apology needed to be rendered to the boxer.

The boxer whose background is traced from Volta Region has duly been paid following the petitioned served.

Speaking with the Volta and Oti president of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Enam Dagadu expressed his joy for fighting for a just cause, he stressed that, boxers from the Volta Region has come a long way to be given due recognition adding that, Volta and Oti boxers have held the flag of Ghana high in recent times and under no circumstances should they be disregarded.

" I am happy for fighting for a just cause, indeed this makes be very delighted because, I know and believe our boxers from Volta and Oti have put in a lot of effort to be where they are now and they should never be disregarded as it has been the case, I will always fight for them and ensure whatever respect is due them, they are accorded in that manner"
