Home Stars showed class in Bebeto's defeat while Thunder strike down Agbogba to send them packing

It was all joy at the Ho Sports Stadium after Home Stars scored 4 to maintain their perfect start in the on going Division 2 middle league.

Home Stars' Aziz Asamoah opened the flood gate just 10' into the first half with a low drive beating goal keeper James Dumasi.

The Soccer Apostles again scored in the 21' when lone ranger, Ronald Numeyah beat oncoming goalie in a 50-50 situation.

Bebeto found their momentum as they attacked earnestly in search of a goal. They managed to pull one back in the 26' through Kwasi Gideon's drive with Home Stars goalie, Prosper Agbeko having little to do in the process.  

Back from Recess, Bebeto kept piling the pressure in search of an equalizer. A glorious opportunity fell for Bebeto to score from the spot but Isaac Dagadu blasted the ball over the bar. 

Home Stars gave up the chase from Bebeto's attack as Stephen Gleku in the 61' benefited from what looked like a defensive blunder to level the game 2-2. 

Heaven broke loose as Julius Okoh scored in the 62' to spark up the stadium. 

Julius, got a brace as he stepped up to beautifully convert a penalty in the 85' won by substitute, Issaka Ahmed.

Bebeto's Chioce Kuebutorne missed another penalty, failing to score from the rebound after Prosper Agbeko made the first save in the defensive tackle that got Evans Ekoh red carded.  

Home Stars sealed the victory with a 4-2 scoreline.

Premier League referee Selorm Yao Bless ended the game after 5' additional time.

In the earlier match played on Thursday, September 9, Sons of Thunder became victors after scoring a brace to inflicts more wounds on Agbogba FC.

The We Never Walk Alone boys were made to walk alone with their beautiful, but not prolific upfront display.

Tandzindin Dramani first scored in the 53' to ensure the Sky is the Limit lads, limit the scare of Agbogba.

A late goal in the 81' was enough to send Agbogba FC packing after Match Day 4 of the Volta Regional Division 2 middle league.

The win for Home Stars and Sons of Thunder have placed them on 6 points apiece with equal goals to their advantage. 

Bebeto FC and Agbogba FC having failed to win a single match so far are placed on 3rd and 4th on the league table with no point at hand.

The chase for Division 1 slot continues with match day 5 to be played simultaneously on Friday 10th September 2021.
