The road to Division 1 in the Volta Regional Division 2 middle league started today, September 6 at the Ho Sports Stadium.
Yadzo Oti Warriors and Akatsi All Stars set the tone in a fierced encounter as both sides were cautious surging forward in the early hours of the game.
The Akatsi based team went looking for a goal as they missed glorious opportunity to have taken the lead in the 10' of play.
The game became a ding-dong affair with All Stars continuously varying tactics to outwit their opponents but failed to make an impact.
Yadzo Oti Warriors tried to find the antidote to stop the pressure being piled at them by their foes but ended up conceding in the 30' after their defence broke up leaving holes to the advantage of Akatsi All Stars.
A not too beautiful football displayed saw the game ending 1-0 in favour of Akatsi All Stars who takes on wounded lions, Roberto FC on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Volta Rangers became a delight to watch as they walloped Roberto FC 4-0.
The Rangers displayed a world class football to the admiration of spectators who thronged the Ho Sports Stadium to cheer them on.
Hundred of fans in attendance went agog when Volta Rangers recorded their first goal in the 21' after earlier missing chances in the 5' and 17' respectively.
Rangers only needed 85' out of 90' with 3 minutes additional time to increase the tally to 4 having silenced the once upon a time Division 1 league contenders, Roberto FC.
The Kodjobi based team have had a perfect start in the middle league as they hope to continue their blistering form on Wednesday when they meet Yadzo Oti Warriors which promises be another cagey encounter.
The Volta Regional middle league continues tomorrow with another interesting fixtures as Home Stars lock horns with Agbogba FC (3pm) and Sons of Thunder making a time with Bebeto FC also 1pm at the Ho Sports Stadium.
