George Ofori Sports Academy justifier held as part of increasing squad depth


George Ofori Sports Academy based in Hlefi changing the narrative on juvenile football in the Volta Region

The technical team of the George Ofori Sports Academy also known as G.O  Sports Academy on Saturday morning 18th September 2021, organized justify your inclusion for young players spanning from 13 to 19 years.

The justify, which sort to add up to the depth of squad and also replace players due promotion was organised in three categories.

Godwin Yeko, head of the technical team in an interview with explained that, the justifier was an important exercise for him to fully access the new players to be selected.

"Those who came, there are qualities among them and I think these qualities can be featured in the academy. This was an important exercise to me and it has given me a full idea to access the boys and to which categories to place them"

Talking about promotion, the coach said, there will be promotion of players into other categories, a reason he was happy the justify was done to replace players who will be promoted into other categories in the academy.

"Currently some players in the U17, 15 and 13 will be promoted so those we've got now can replace those who will be progressing into other departments"

The team manager, Love Agbalekpor said, the academy will not give up in searching for quality and talented players, this she said it's the dream of G.O Academy to unearth young talents.

"We are not relenting to get good and talented players that can represent us, we are still doing our best to see how far we can send George Ofori Sports Academy"

A US based businessman and founder of George Ofori G.O Sports Academy reacting to the justifier disclosed that, there will be series of justifier in other regions of Ghana. This he said, the aim of the academy is to become the breeding ground for clubs both home and abroad to seek talents.

 "This is just the beginning but a lot more justify would be done all over Ghana for example, we are going to Bono East next week at Kededzi for another justify. As an Academy, I want to see most of the premier sides depending on us for players and beyond Africa"

The academy since its inception is ran a 'one man show' way, touching on sponsorship, George Ofori said the academy will do all it can to attract sponsors adding that, the achievements the Academy has craved for itself will yield results as sponsors would want to see results before investing.

"For now, it's one man show. You know this is our first time playing a league so you must show investors what you have or your value for them to support you. No investor is 'father Christmas'. Thank God with our first league, we made it triple champions by wining all the categories. Am using your medium to invite all investors to come and join hands with us to develop football in Ghana and Africa."

G.O Sports Academy are the champions of the Ho Municipal Football Association juvenile league. They won in all categories; U13, 15 and 17 to be declared champions.
