Ghana Boxing Authority has appointed Foster Enam Dagadu as new Boxing Authority President for Volta and Oti region. (GBA)
Dagadu who is currently the Boxing Federation Chairman for Volta and Oti will now head both regions as president of Ghana Boxing Authority to ensure boxing as a sport develop in the region.
A letter of appointment served and signed by the president of Ghana Boxing Authority, Mr. Abraham Kotei Neequaye believe, Enam with his experience and knowledge, Volta and Oti region shall benefit.
"The board believes strongly that, your rich experience and knowledge of the sport will no doubt manifest itself and be of immense benefit to professional boxing"
Foster Enam Dagadu as chairman of the Volta Boxing Federation, has been able to spread boxing to the entire region with his abled executives.
"Boxing has become a house hold sporting discipline in the two Regions, for the first time in 30 years, together with my executives brought boxing to the regional capital Ho including some major towns in the region; Adidome, Ziope, Ave, Aflao, Keta, Dzodze just to mention but a few."
Through Dagadu's leadership Volta region has acquired boxing ring and other equipments which has made the sporting discipline stable.
Speaking to 24hourssports.com, Enam said it was his plan to step down as the chairman of the federation due to personal reasons but the love of the game prevented him from resigning.
"I planned stepping down as the chairman of the boxing federation for Volta and Oti, but for the love of the sport, I could not have stepped down"
Expressing his joy, Enam feels appreciated to be appointed as the president of Ghana Boxing Authority for Volta and Oti region.
"It's a joy and honor for the confidence and the trust imposed in me to lead the two regions out of 16 when it comes to Boxing and I am happy to use this platform to thank the people of Volta region specially my executives and the media for the support and assistance they gave me through out this journey" .
He called for support from all board to embrace the various positions yet to be announced when the nominations opened.
"I call on all sports loving fans especially those who are interested in Boxing to be on alert to take up positions when nominations are opened."
A grateful Enam Dagadu dedicates his appointment to his late grand father and Uncle who he believe played major roles in his life.
"I am grateful to God and I dedicate this appointment to my late grand father Ben Kweku Fu Dagadu (Togbe Adzagli) former Asafo - Fia of Akoefe - Avenue and my late Uncle Gershon Yao Balamey , the two are strong boxing lovers who played major roles in my life.
