Road to Div 1; wheats separated from chaffs as 8 teams battle for middle league action


The battle line has been drawn for the qualification to Division 1 as all participating clubs met earlier today to draw a ballot.

Eight teams have made it to the middle league with Ho based teams, Volta Rangers and Home Stars inclusive.

Earlier today, the Organising Committee of the Volta Regional Football Association met all qualifed teams at the Ho Sports Stadium for balloting of groups.

Volta Rangers will have the likes of Akatsi All Stars, old folks Roberto FC and Yadzo Oti Warriors to contend with in Group A as Home Stars faces tough opponents such as Bebeto FC, Agbogba FC and either Sons of Thunder or Eleven Wonders whose play off ended abruptly yesterday August 25.

It is not clear what caused the untimely end of the game, but reports gathered by indicates, the Disciplinary Committee will speed up actions to bring finality to what stopped the game.

Start of the middle league is slated on the 6th of September which runs through to 12th September 2021. One team will qualify to Division 1. The final four teams plays MTN FA Cup.
