Referees fitness test scheduled to take place at the Ho Sports Stadium on 17th April 2021

The Volta Regional Football Association will on Saturday April 17th organise fitness test for the referees who have applied to officiate its Regional games.

The referees fitness test according to Daniel Agboga, chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, is in line with the changes in refereeing structure of the Ghana Football Association.

"It's actually in line with the change in refereeing structure of the GFA"

The chairman explained that, the GFA has taken responsibility of referees activities which are now under the country's football governing body, the GFA.

"Activities of referees are now directly under the GFA and same replicates at the RFA levels across the country"

Over 200 referee applications have been tendered in, this according to Daniel Agboga, the referees have to be assessed that they are physically and technically fit.

"We earlier advertised for application from referees who want to officiate in our programmes and over 200 people applied. We have to ensure that they are physically and technically fit, so we have to assess and prepare them ahead on the league."

The GFA Referee’s Appointment Committee Chairperson, Retired FIFA Referee Christine Enyonam Zigah is expected to be at the Ho Sports Stadium for the event.
