GPL: EPUC Student Rustum, to handle Medeama vs Hearts week 12 tie

Rustum Gameli Senorgbe to handle Medeama, Hearts game in Tarkwa

As the 2020/2021 season of the Ghana Premier League gets interesting with the 25% of fans now allowed to watch matches, it is vital, to also acknowledge the importance of the referees, who are the middle men in these impressive matches we see.

A level 400 Student of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC)-Ho, Rustum Gameli Senorgbe will be in the helm of affairs in the titanic clash between Medeama Sc and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Tarkwa Akoon Park.

The matchday 12 midweek fixture, which kicks off at 3pm on Thursday, February 4, 2021 will have assistant referees, Kenneth Tweneboah- Kodua and Isaac Nyamekye with 4th referee Jacob Aduntera together ensuring a beautiful and fair game.

It is a fact, that the level officiating this season has been very good with little or no complaints from Clubs, Sports Journalists and other stakeholders.

Much will be expected from Centre Referee, Rustum, who happens to be the Private University Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG) Rep for EPUC. The Broadcaster has proven his effectiveness and control of every game he has handled and is trusted to deliver.

Both Medeama SC and Hearts of Oak will fight for the maximum 3 points in this encounter, owing to the fact that they both lost in their regional derbies by same goal margin, Medeama 0-2 away to leaders Karela FC and Hearts, 0-2 to Great Olympics.

This will be the first time Rustum will be officiating a Hearts game, as he has already officiated 2 Asante Kotoko matches since his first stint with the Premier League; the latest being a 1-0 away win for Kotoko against Dreams FC on Match Day 6, on December 20, 2020 at Dawu.

In the last 5 meetings, the Abrankese lads have had an upper hand against the Phobians, winning 3, sharing the spoils twice with no loss since 2016. The Match is scheduled to be telecasted LIVE on StarTimes.

The Ho based Referee who turned 36 last Sunday and was 4th in Aduana vs Dwarfs 2-2 stalemate at Dormaa receives his second consecutive appointment this season.
