Maxwell Konadu shown the exit door after Olympics stunning

 

Maxwell Konadu has been relieved of his job as head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko following defeat to Accra Great Olympics


Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu is confirmed to be sacked a day after losing to Accra Great Olympics.


In a statement released on their official Twitter handle, the club according to the release, have parted ways with the former assistant coach of Black Stars with immediate effect.


"Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko wishes to inform the general public that, it has decided to part ways with head coach Maxwell Konadu as its head coach with immediate effect"


The club further revealed the assistant coach, Johnson Smith will take charge of the technical team as the interim head coach


"In the interim, coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the team in its technical direction" the statement read.


The sack of Maxwell Konadu comes as a surprise to many especially with the Porcupine Warriors still in the CAF  Champions League competition preparing for Al-Hilal clash come next week.


It is not known what triggered the sack of the gaffer, but reports says, a lost to Accra Great Olympics could be one major factor leading to the sack.


Maxwell Konadu won the 2013/14 Ghana Premier League for Kumasi Asante Kotoko with the aim of repeating that feat for the Kumasi based club this season.
