Emmanuel Lomotey becomes the new signee for French side Amiens

Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey is the latest to switch sides in the ongoing summer transfer season in Europe.

The young Ghanaian midfielder has joined French Ligue 2 side Amiens from Spanish second division side Extremadura.

The 22-year-old has signed a four-year deal with his new club, who were recently relegated to the second division of French football following the cancellation of the league due to the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus in the world.

The club announced via their website their latest acquisition to its supporters all over the world.

"Amiens SC and Extremadura UD have reached an agreement for the transfer of Emmanuel Lomotey, Amiens SC is pleased to announce the signing of Emmanuel Lomotey, who strengthens the midfield of the club. The 22-year-old Ghana U23 international comes from Liga 2. He has played 21 games this season with Extremadura UD."

"The defensive midfielder transfer deal with Amiens will last until 2024, welcome home Emmanuel!"

Lomotey's moved from the shores of Ghana after starring for Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Dreams FC, as well as playing for Extremadura, Cordoba, Villarreal and others.

He featured in 18 outings out of 21, scoring one goal for Extremadura in the Segunda Division.

He was part of Blackstars B side that won 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations on home soil.

Hopefully, Amiens provides a new lease of life of the young budding holding midfielder, who many have touted to grow further in stature in the heart of midfield in the upcoming years.
