Two Ashanti Clubs to Represent Ghana in CAF Inter-Club Competitions

Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ashgold to play in CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup respectively.

Ashanti Regional based clubs Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Obuasi Ashanti Gold (Ashgold) will represent Ghana in CAF's inter-club competitions next season.

This comes after the Executive Council of the FA overwhelmingly voted for the cancelation of the Ghana Premier League 2019/20 season on June 30.

The duo represented Ghana in the Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively after triumphs in the Special Competition Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Kotoko however  didn't fare too well against their Ivorian opponents FC San Pedro in the play-off round whilest Ashgold were dumped out in the first round of the Confederations Cup by Moroccan side RS Berkane.

These two outfits will have another opportunity to redeem their bruised egos when they play against the big wits in the African club competition.

Until the Ghana Premier League season was put on hold amidst a Presidential directive in the wake of the deadly coronavirus outbreak, the Porcupine Warriors and the Miners were in the top half rigorously contesting for the league.
