GFA will accept CAS verdict- Prosper Harrison

Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo, Gen. Secretary of the Ghana Football Association

Ghana FA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo has hinted on his outfits ambitions to heed to the ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in the case involving the GFA and Tema Youth President Wilfred Osei Kwaku “Palmer”.

The popular football administrator was unfairly disqualified from contesting last year's 2019 GFA presidential elections by the Normalisation Committee which was then under the leadership, Dr Kofi Amoah for failure to pay 10 per cent of a player transfer fee to the FA at the time.

This however prompted ,"Palmer” to file his case at CAS to seek redress on the matter of his disqualification.

CAS were due to prove their ruling on July 17th but rescheduled it to a later date on August 4th, 2020.

But in a recent interview with Foxx FM in Kumasi, General Secretary of the FA, Prosper Harrison Addo has expressed his outfit readiness to abide by any directive that the international adjudicating body will present to them on August 4th.

“We are waiting for the decision and we shall do as CAS decides. This is not the first time that GFA is involved at CAS and so we will follow whatever CAS says in this particular case also” he said.

It is said that two scenarios are likely to play out, firstly, the body will either throw out Wilfred Osei Kwaku's case in order to allow the current administration to proceed with their mandate or order for fresh elections, which means that the current administration's mandate will be cut short barely a year in office.

With barely two weeks, the football landscape in the country has really tensed up as people on both sides are eagerly awaiting CAS' directive.
