Kurt Okraku Outlines Key Objective to Improve Ghana Premier League Standard

Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku has enumerated one of his key objectives for football administration in the country as improving on the standard of the Ghana Premier League.

According to the President of the FA, his main ambition out of the numerous, is to ensure that the standards of the nations top elite football competition, Ghana Premier League is at the very top in terms of quality, competivenes as well as economic viability.

The Ghana Football Association recently announced a new committee that will oversee the autonomy of the Ghana Premier League, with the mandate of ensuring that standard of the league improves beyond its normal position.

"It is the target of the FA to improve our league and that is why we have decided to play an autonomous league. In this case, organizers of the league will have free hands to work."

He added that, as part of plans to get the best in talented referees also prompted his administration to review the refereeing structure in the league.

"Again, our decision to change the refereeing structure is a step in the right direction. We want to hunt for talented referees and make them better. So going forward, I think we are going to get a better league under my term”. The President told Germany based radio station Topical Radio.

The 2019/20 Ghana Premier League was put on hold since March 15, after a Presidential directive to stop social gathering activities in a bid to minimize the widespread of the deadly coronavirus, which has killed lot of persons in the country.
