Volta Regional Football Association Executive Council visits Regional Minister

The Executive Council of the Volta Regional Football Association on June 12, paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa at the Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC)

The call led by the Director of National Sports Authority Mr. Kwame Ampofi Junior was to officially introduce the FA's Executive Council to the Regional Minister upon assumption of office last year.

Mr. Daniel Agbogah, chairman for the Volta Regional Football Association in his introductory remarks, highlighted the purpose for the visit.

"Our visit here is to officially introduce myself and the rest of the Executive Council to the Volta Regional Coordinating Council and to interact further the best way we would want to develop Volta football"


Highlighting the administrative works already in place, the FA chairman indicated the already established committes set to guide the FA achieve its vision and purpose.

"Currently, when we took over, we have had meetings with all stakeholders within the football sector, we met the general public through the media, the old footballers, the coaches association and the everyone that matter in the football sector"

The Volta Regional Football Association in the bid to see football in the region develop has come up with an idea to have a football development plan in the region, a step the FA has taken to gather information from all stakeholders regarding problems facing the regional football.

"The idea was to develop a development plan for the region. During that particular time, we (RFA) gathered information in respect of problems facing  football development in the region"


In response, the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Hon Johnson Avuletey on behalf of the Regional Minister welcome the Executive Council of the Regional Football Association. Reacting to the call, Hon. Avuletey however asked the RFA to prepare and submit an action plan. This he said will help the Regional Coordinating Council to help identify areas to assist.

" On behalf of my Regional Minister, I want to welcome you all, before anything, the Coordinating Council would want to know your action plan, I want to know what you are doing now, to raise football in this region."

Volta region for some time now, has suffered from football development leaving the region lacking the full representation of premier league clubs. Hon. Johnson Avuletey however urged the FA to work hard and get a team to represent the region in the premiership level


"For some time now, the region has suffered in terms of football, football made the region alive, but for some time now, you all agree with me we are hungry for football. As young men and women I believe you will put your head together to raise a team for us that we will all come together and support so that at the end of the day, we can also watch football from the stands"

The Executive Council later paid a courtesy call on the former Regional Football Association chairman Mr. Francis Dogbatse to commensurate with him for the lost of his late wife, Madam Regina Adzo Dogbatse.
