AMB. Amihere tips Nana Yaw Amponsah as favourite to land Kotoko CEO Job


Nana Yaw Amponsah, the man widely tipped to be appointed CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.


It's been close to a month since the Chief Executive Officer position of Kumasi Asante Kotoko became vacant following the expiration of George Amoako’s mandate at the helm of affairs.

A lot of names were linked to the job, Samuel Osei Kuffour,George Afriyie,Nana Yaw Amponsah, Fred Acheampong, Kojo Addai Mensah, Ben Nti just to name but a few.

In recent weeks, George Afriyie, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Kojo Addae Mensah have all distanced themselves from the job.

Meanwhile Former Kotoko Board member, Ambassador, Kabral Blay Amihere, has favoured the imminent appointment of Nana Yaw Amponsah as Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

In a recent interview with Accra based Asempa FM, he said “I listened to him during the GFA Presidential campaign. He is a guy great of ideas. If he is the one going to head Kotoko, with the support of the Board, he can deliver. He has ideas. He looks a man of action”.

Nana Yaw Amponsah comes into this portfolio with immeasurable experience in Sports Ethics, Governance, Commercial, Marketing, a Licensed Players Agent as well as gaining nationwide publicity when he viaed for the Ghana Football Association presidential position.

Kotoko will make his appointment official when the Prof. Lydia Nkansah Committee submits its report to Manhyia in the coming days.
