Two Retired FIFA Referees From Volta gets GFA Refereeing Structure Appointment


Both FIFA retired referees have been appointed to new GFA  Refereeing Structure  panel respectively 

The Ghana Football Association Executive Council Board has introduced a new refereeing structure that will help raise the officiating standard in the Ghana Premier League.

Emmanuella Aglago and Innocentia Agbavitor are retired FIFA referees from the Volta region who have been appointed onto two panels respectively.

Emmanuella Aglago will serve as a member to the Assessors and Clarification panel which is headed by Mr. Frederick Acheampong and Justice Yeboah a member.

The three member panel will be responsible for evaluating and and assessing the performance of referees by giving advice and constructive comments to help the development of the referees while also using a marking system. Their duty shall also analyse the performance of referees in the matches in their various categories under the auspices of the GFA. A communication from GFA has said.

The former Chief Executive Officer for Ashgold, Mr. Frederick Acheampong who is the chairman for the three member panel will ensure the panel's role for grading and classification of referees is achieved.

Also, Innocentia Agbavitor is appointed on to the Match Review panel with an over view of reviewing incidents picked up by Officials League Footage and make a decision to refer the incident to the Tribunal based on the rules of the game as outlined on a report sheet. The Match Review panel has the Deputy Central RFA chairman Dr. Francis Eyiah serving as the chairman while madam Innocentia Agbavitor and Paul Ayamba will assist as members in that regard. The panel is also expected to operate independently.

Meanwhile, the head of Regional Football Association for Volta, Mr. Daniel Agbogah has congratulated the appointees.

In an interview granted to 24hourssports.com, the RFA chairman believes the duo are competent enough to be on the panel, adding that they will work well to get the necessary commendations.

" I congratulate them for the appointment. I know the two have what it takes to work at that level and I believe their hard work will see lots of praises from all quarters". He added.
