TOP OFFICIALS INFLUENCE SELECTION OF PLAYERS INTO THE NATIONAL TEAMS - ASAMOAH GYAN

Asamoah Gyan who is the General Captain of the Black Stars of Ghana has added his voice on the interference of top officials in the selection of players into the National teams.

The leading goal scorer in the history of the Black Stars made the disclosure to ‘Myxtro The Ultimate’ on Adom TV.

The Chief Executive Officer of Tema Youth Football Club, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, a former Management Committee Member for the senior national team made this revelation weeks ago where he accused some officials of the Ghana Football Association for influencing the selection of players.

Asamoah Gyan, has, however, confirmed the undue influence coaches suffer at the Ghana FA.

”I have been in the game for a long time and I can tell you that it happens. Sometimes people put undue pressure on coaches to pick certain players over others. I cannot say coach A or B, but I am aware that certain coaches allow pressures from above to influence their choice of selection.”

He, therefore, called on the top officials to put an end to their monstrous behaviour.

”You have to leave the person to do his job so that you can criticize when he makes mistakes, but you cannot force players on a coach and turn around to criticize.”

The spiffing finisher who is now a free agent believes the current Black Stars gaffer is the type who will not allow his integrity and independence to be compromised by any top official.

“I don’t think C.K is like that. He is the type who will quit than to allow himself to be influenced on the job. That is the kind of person I see him to be.”
