Newcastle’s Danny Rose slams plans to restart Premier League amid pandemic

Premier League clubs have been in discussions to finish the season, which has nine rounds remaining, and the possibility of a restart next month was given a boost when the government said elite sport could return after June 1.

Meanwhile, New castle defender, Danny Rose holds a contrary view, insist football should not return until number of cases are reduced massively.

Newcastle left-back Danny Rose on IG live: “The government saying bring back football to boost the morale of the nation, I don’t give a F about the nation’s morale. People’s lives are at risk. Football shouldn’t be spoken about till numbers have dropped massively. It’s b*llocks.”

Britain has recorded more than 223 000 cases and over 32 000 deaths from the coronavirus - the highest number in Europe.
