Legon Cities FC to Adopt Legon Sports Stadium as Match Venue


Management of Legon Cities FC took time out to engage their fans via Zoom to address issues surrounding the club 


The Chief Executive Officer for Legon Cities Football Club, Mr. Terry Maxwell-Aidam has disclosed to their teeming fans on Zoom meeting conference the intention of the club to adopt a new home venue for their league games when the Ghana premier  league resumes.

Legon Cities FC is currently sharing the Accra Sports Stadium as home ground with Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics, Inter Allies and now Kumasi Asante Kotoko who after the renovation works ongoing at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, resorted to adopt the Accra Sports Stadium.

In an electronic meeting with fans via Zoom yesterday May 23, management of the club led by the CEO has revealed to their fans plans to adopt Legon Sports Stadium as their new match venue. Citing other reason, the CEO also said, the club which bears the University name will help gunner a large fan base for the club, a move he believes will help the club have a connection with the institution.

"We have started engaging the authorities at the Premier University and we are hopeful of a positive response from them. We believe that such a facility would help us grow our fan base and also align ourselves with the institution as the name of the club has a connection with the school.”

Also, Terry Maxwell-Aidam hinted on a new sports stadium to be built for the club, a plan the football club has hatched and yet to be conceived.

Other management members present at the Zoom meeting conference includes the deputy CEO and Administrative Manager Kwabena Asenso and the club's Public Relations Officer Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang.

Fans of the clubs had their time to ask questions relating to the club's preparations toward the resumption of the league and how the club is able to cope with the current situation the nation and the world at at large has found itself regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
