MATCH PREVIEW: HEARTS VS ASHGOLD

Hearts welcomes Ashgold to the Accra Sports Stadium in a Thursday night football

It is not common to witness Thurday night soccer here in Ghana, especially in the Ghana premier league where it is highly known of playing its league on a Sunday afternoon.

But the story is gradually changing to suit a true purpose, where Ghana's love for football is being brought back to life.

Accra Sports Stadium will be another busy place for football loving fans as the expectations from Hearts fan will be their adorable team should win to usher them in to a happy weekend.

Hearts will have to decend from the oak tree and battle it out with the miners from Obuasi as week 8 is wrapped up in a Thursday night soccer.

Edward Odoom  had a wonderful time at the Theater of Dreams in Dawu. Hearts went thumping Dreams FC away, of course it couldn't have been this better when the rainbow lads suffered a painful defeat at the hands of Kotoko prior to Dreams win.

Believe it or not, Edward Odoom will certainly line up a strong squad against Ashgold who for one reason, have relented on their quest to winning their 5th league trophy.

Benjamin Affutu Kotei will miss this action after having yellow cards accumulation of three. There is always going to be a replacement in the name of Abdul Azeez Nurudeen. Hearts can boast of a rich bench which i sincerely believe, the absence of Affutu will have no effect for the Phobia boys.

Ashgold has seen only 2 defeats so far in the on going Ghana premier league. The last time they visited the Accra Sports Stadium ended in a goalles drawn game against Legon Cities. Coach Yakubu Mambo will take pride from the fact that, he has been able to record a drawn game at the mercy of Legon Cities.

It is so obvious Hearts is a different team, therefore, Ashgold will certainly come stronger with the believe of mining down the oak tree once more after Kotoko was able to do same.

It will be an interesting game, not because of the hype the game carries into the night, but because of the night football tag on the game.

Ashgold playing against Hearts at the Accra Sports Stadium hasn't been something difficult for the miners as they hold an enviable away record against Hearts of Oak.

I expect a goalles first half, you can bet for a both team to score in the second half as a drawn game here tonight can't be over emphasised.

HEAD TO HEAD.

Hearts has managed to win only once against Ashgold since 2012/13 season at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ashgold holds the record of winning more than losing when they play as guests to Hearts of Oak since 2012. A total sum of 3 wins has been recorded for the miners with 2 ending in a draw out of possible 6 games played.
