MATCH PREVIEW: KOTOKO VS B. CHELSEA

Kotoko vs Berekum Chelsea

It has been two games with two wins for the Porcupine Warriors so far in the Ghana premier league.

This will also mean that, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are also with 6 points, only 2 points separating them from their visitors, Berekum Chelsea who now have 4 points out of two games.

Coach Maxwell Konadu complained about a poor start to the league despite thumping Eleven Wonders 1-0. They saw a convincing win against a re-branded side when Kotoko was visitors to Legon Cities' party at the Accra Sports Stadium and took away all the precious 3 points many thought was meant for the newly named side.

With the rejuvenated form of Sogne Yaccouba and having Emmanuel Gyamfi scoring a brace in their last match means a lot for Kotoko. The duo will hope to cause troubles to the defense of Berekum Chelsea.

Even though Kotoko does not find it rosy when they play Berekum Chelsea at home, with recent outings not so encouraging, they are on paper, tipped to carry the day by extending their lead to 9 points. The 'Wo Kum Apem, Apem Bɛ Ba' show boys have a rich midfield, and it is no surprising to see their attacks mainly coming from the midfield.

Berekum Chelsea defied all odds by winning against Hearts of Oak in match day 1 at the Accra Sports Stadium but had a disappointing draw against Liberty Professionals at the Berekum Golden City park in the week 2 of the Ghana premier league.

The Blues will hope to use the same energy they pierced Hearts with by picking a point here at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium if not all the 3 points.

Their records against Kotoko when they play in Kumasi has not been a bad one, knowing they once defeated Kotoko here, 0-3 as far back in 2014/15 season.

Expect Kotoko to score more than a goal. I am going for Over 2.5 goals with Berekum Chelsea hoping to pull a goal back as consolation.

HEAD TO HEAD

Kotoko won Berekum Chelsea 2-0 when they last played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the NC Special Competition.

The Porcupine Warriors have recorded just 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in the last 5 meetings with Berekum Chelsea here at
 Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Berekum Chelsea have managed to win against Kotoko out of the 5 times they have played away.
