MATCH DAY 3 CHAOS LEADS KOTOKO TO HOME GAMES BAN


Kotoko temporarily banned from Baba Yara Sports Stadium 

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has sanctioned Kotoko of a ban pending the adjudication of the incident that occurred at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on 13th January, 2020.

Berekum Chelsea defeated Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in match day 3 of the Ghana premier league.  The aftermath of the game rather saw unpleasant experiences happening at the stadium with fans of Kotoko throwing water bottles and sachet of water to the pitch.

The incident led to series of injuries with a rubber bullet believed to have hit the head of a Kotoko fan.

Persuant to an on going investigations by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association, the FA has decided to temporarily ban the Porcupine Warriors from using the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as home until a final decision is taken.

" Following incidents at the Baba Yara Stadium during Asante Kotoko's Premier League match with Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, the GFA Executive Council has decided to temporarily ban Asante Kotoko from playing its matches at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium pending the adjudication of the matter by the GFA Disciplinary Committee."
