Kotoko newly appointed coach has revealed his tactics that aided him win the 2019 President's Cup game against their fiercest rival, Accra Hearts of Oak.
The gaffer despite admitting Hearts did well, attributed his win to the risk he took to switch formation to a 4-4-2 when his team was down by a goal to nill. He disclosed that, after taking the lead in the second half, he reverted to a 4-5-1 formation to close down the game.
"We took the risk by going to the 4-4-2 and it paid off and we quickly switched to 4-5-1 [formation] to make sure that we closed the game, but it wasn't easy. Hearts played well, but I think we took our chances and at the end of the day we won.”
Konadu has over time, exhibited a high level of game tactics and formations against Hearts of Oak in any encounter, leaving the Accra based team with many questions than answers.
With the league scheduled to start on 28th December, Hearts will again lock horns with Kotoko in match day 6 of the Ghana premier league, it will be nothing but a revenge for the phobians who will seek a win against their sworn rivals.
