Maxwell Konadu becomes the coach of Asante Kotoko the second time |
Maxwell Konadu has reunited with the Porcupine Warriors as the head coach of the Kumasi based club.
Konadu guided Asante Kotoko to win the Ghana premier 2011/12 season before taking up the assistant coach job for the Black Stars. His second coming followed the sack of Kjetil Zachariassen after the later failed to lead Kotoko through to the CAF Confederations Cup group stages.
Konadu has penned down a two year deal, with the option of extending his contract after the two years. He is tasked to return the club to African club competitions and win the 2019 /20 season.
The head coach of the Black Stars B after signing for the champions of the NC special competition, said he was glad to be back home.
" The feeling is good, I'm happy to be home again, this is a big club, my former club, I can't turn down an offer to come help the team, so it's a great feeling to be here again"
Asked whether the tasked given him was huge, The gaffer believed he is capable of doing it again.
" As a coach, you should be ready for everything, I have done it before, this is not new except that, the players are different now, but it's achievable with the right mentality and the right players, I am capable of doing it again."
Maxwell Konadu will recieve a sum of 5,000 Ghana Cedis as monthly salary according to reports.
