Pep must be Frank!!

Manchester City are looking to bounce back from the 3-1 loss at Anfield which leaves them 9 points off the leaders, but this is a club who have responded to setbacks under Pep Guardiola. The manager will know his team need a long winning run to see if they can at least catch up with Liverpool who lies at the top of the league.

Even though Wolves won at the ET I had Stadium, Chelsea won't be intimidated by the task in hand with their young players seemingly thriving when playing away from home. Chelsea  have won 7 away games in a row including twice in the champions league and Frank Lampard would not want to shift too far from his principles to make sure Chelsea threaten Manchester City way more than they did under Maurizio Sarri.

Last season, Chelsea were hammered 6-0 the Etihad, but Lampard's team have been involved in many goals scoring in their away games.

Chelsea might want to hurt Manchester City who have looked vulnerable at the back ever since Aymeric Laporte got injured with an injury but Chelsea must thread with caution against Manchester City. However I think it is difficult to ignore the fact that Chelsea have lost twice to Manchester United, once to Liverpool and drawn with Leicester City so far this season.

Even 5th placed Sheffield United earned a draw with Chelsea and I do think Frank Lampard's team have struggled against the top teams. Chelsea did win at Ajax, but Chelsea were 1-4 down at home before their hosts were reduced to nine men and I think Manchester City will prove to be too strong for Chelsea.

Backing Manchester City to win the game and cover the handicap in a high-scoring game looks to be the play here.

Both Chelsea and Manchester City won their home games when they met last season. However Manchester City beat Chelsea to win the Community Shield and the Carabao cup.

Manchester City have won 3 of their last 4 home league games against Chelsea including the 6-0 hammering last season.

Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea
