The Ghana Football Association has proposed 10.8 million USD to government as budget for the start of the domestic  leagues in the country.

Though unconfirmed, it is believed that, government of Ghana will step in to help the newly administration under the auspices of Kurt Simeon Okraku who was elected barely two months ago.

In his recent visit to the Jubilee House, the president of Ghana, H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo promised to help the FA to make Ghana football what it was in the past.

This however cast some speculations that, the government of Ghana through the ministry of Youth and Sports is willing to support GFA with the proposed amount.

The sponsorship from government will cover the premier league, the Division 1 league, and the women's league.

The Ghana premier league was earlier announced to start on December 21, a released information on the official twitter handle page of the Ghana football association has announced a change of date to 28th of December. This postponement could be as a result of lack of enough funds to run the league hence the reason to have reschedule the start of the domestic league.

The FA, according to reports will meet the Minister for Youth and Sports to discuss the budget before approval.
