Coach C. K Akunnor, newly appointed assistant coach of Black Stars |
Reports has it that, the former Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach, Charles Kwabla Akunnor has been appointed as the assistant coach of the Black Stars.
His appointment comes as a decision from the Executive Committee to replace Ibrahim Tanko who is currently with the U 23 team.
A statement from the Ghana Football Association indicates that, C. K Akunnor will temporarily serve as the assistant coach of the Black Stars for their two games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
Meanwhile, Stephen Appiah and Richard 'Olele' Kingston serving as the team manager and goalkeepers trainer respectively are still at post.
Black Stars will start their Afcon 2021 journey by playing South Africa at the Cape Coast sports stadium before traveling to Sao Tome and Principe for the second game. Coach Kwasi Appiah has dropped Kwadwo Asamoah and general captain Asamoah Gyan ahead of the qualifiers.
